POSTSCRIPT TO BENGHAZI

by Lawrence Fox

Let us get this straight.

This administration told us that there were no scandals and there was certainly no coordinated cover-up between the White House, State Department and CIA as it related to the debacle in Benghazi, Libya. We now know the White House, State Department and CIA were warned about the impending threats in Libya, but did nothing because the CIA was running guns to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Syria from the same embassy.

No Cover-up?

Then the administration told us there were no scandals and there was certainly no coordinated cover-up between the White House, State Department and NSA as it related to the collection of millions of private cell phone messages, e-mails, and on-line communications between law abiding American Citizens -- while all the time arguing that profiling Islamic Jihadists was immoral, but profiling law abiding Americans  is a moral good and necessary for national security. We now know every progressive liar in the US works for the present administration.

 Spying on Law-abiding Americans?

Now the same administration - after things really start to heat up – tells the world there exists a coordinated effort on the part of the
White House, State Department, CIA and NSA to protect our embassies and broadcasts to the Empty-Head Press ... and to potential Islamic Jihadists (that cannot be profiled)  about a most secret impending plot to bomb American embassies. And this is the same administration that tells us that this secret  jihadist plot was discovered as a result of collecting millions of private cell phone messages, e-mails, and on-line communications between law abiding American Citizens. Yes, it is true, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu Americans are regularly in conversation with Islamic Jihadists.

Hope and Change?

Well I guess we will know soon whether it is psychologically possible for a psychotic administration to allow one embassy to be destroyed and lie for political gain and then actively protect other embassies and lie for political gain. Or will we soon find out how gullible Progressive Americans remain. Either way, the Law Abiding U.S. Citizen is experiencing "Hope and Change."

Is God punishing the United States?

by Susan Fox

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter
and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln

We just had a fascinating five post argument about the consequences homosexual acts, same sex attraction and gay marriage. As a result, I noticed that we picked up a look see from someone in Norway researching Lesbian activists. Norwegians are always welcome here regardless of gender or orientation, and we have a translation gadget on the right if you care to use it.

But one of the comments on the last post on Gay Marriage mentioned that  the United States  faced sacking by a foreign military power sent to us in judgement.   And Bill S., who was my dialogue partner on the last five posts,  took exception to that terminology because he feels the U.S. is going into debt trying to help the poor. And God should reward us for that. Except Bill says he doesn't believe in God.

It is very common for Christians to throw about the term of "God's punishment," and I have  done so myself as well, but the question of God's "punishment" isn't so cut and dried, because God usually "punishes" us by giving us what we want. And God doesn't see it as a punishment, but as a gift. God has given us the gift of free will. He will never take it away. Yet despite some of our destructive choices, God has come -- by his own words -- that we might have LIFE and have it abundantly. The Holy Spirit is the Lord and Giver of Life!

God doesn't send people to hell

Surprisingly, I know a lot of people think Christians believe that God sends certain people to hell for their sins, but He actually doesn't! Nope, He accepts their will. Hell is the absence of God and if someone doesn't want to be with God, and they die with that firm decision, then they are allowed to live for all eternity without God, and that is what hell is. Pope John Paul II said heaven, hell and Purgatory are not a place, but a state of being.  We live in those states even now, so we suffer the consequences of the state we chose.

In the last post, I told the story of how I received a gift when I was a child -- a blond doll. I became quite incensed, and insisted I wanted a red-headed doll instead. The woman who had made the doll was hurt, but she kindly said she would go and change the hair  color of the doll. When the doll was returned with the red hair, what had been a beautiful blond doll was now extremely ugly. I realized I had been ungrateful, and I was horrified by what I had done, and as a consequence I never could play with that doll. It sat on the shelf in my closet for many years untouched, a reminder of my own ingratitude.

Now, did God punish me by giving me a red-headed doll? Certainly not. I was punished by my own selfish will. God gave me exactly what I asked for.

We recently saw a flyer for a order of nuns, having to do with the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Now, some of you may be shocked to know there are women masquerading as nuns, who say their own "mass" without a male Catholic priest. The advertisement for this order showed crystal glasses of red wine and a number of female hands laying on the altar. Clear message: "Male priests not allowed." The clothing of the women (not in habits) also showed dress associated with the gay lifestyle.

Now some women have been excommunicated for saying "mass" after phony female ordinations. It is strictly forbidden, and women will never be allowed to be priests because Jesus

made that decision 2,000 years ago, and He wasn't some idiot subject to his culture. He treated women like he treated men -- equally as children of God. Mary Madeleine is called the apostle to the apostles because she was the first to see Him after the resurrection and brought the good news back to the apostles.  Because priests are to be another Christ and Christ was male, Jesus ordained men, who ordained men, who continue to ordain men. That is the Deposit of Faith.

But God allows some women, who have no respect for Church teaching, to say their own "mass." They receive what they want. They say "mass." But do they receive the fruit of that Mass? Do they receive the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ?!? Absolutely not. I can wave my fingers over unleavened bread until I'm blue in the face, but I am not an ordained Catholic priest, and so it will remain, well, just bread.

So what is the punishment for the nuns who "say" mass? They get to say "mass" but it's meaningless because they are denied the fruit of the Mass --- Jesus Christ. How ironic that a group of women, ostensibly devoted to the Precious Blood, are completely unable to obtain it because they will not allow a priest to say Mass for them. Is God punishing them? No. He is giving them what they want.

10 Commandments Removed from the Public Square

One of the most telling experiences we had in the United States that showed we are close to disaster was when a federal judge ordered Alabama Judge Roy Moore to

remove a 5,200 pound granite Ten Commandments monument from the lobby of the Alabama Judicial Building. Judge Moore refused to obey that order, saying it was unconstitutional, but he was removed from office, and so were the 10 Commandments! This was 2003.

God gave the United States what it wanted. We wanted the 10 Commandments removed from the public square and we got it! This, however, is a very bad sign. When Moses first was given the 10 Commandments, God Himself wrote them on stone. However, when he came down from Mount Sinai, the Jewish people were worshipping the golden calf, and seeing their idolatry, Moses  threw the stone tablets down and broke them.

Now what happened here? The punishment for idolatry was to continue in idolatry without the knowledge of God's law. So if you don't want the truth, then your punishment will be to never know the truth. You get what you want.

Some of the people repented and Moses again went up to Mount Sinai to talk with God, but the second time God's own finger did not inscribe the commandments in stone. Moses had to take dictation from God. Moses himself wrote the 10 Commandments in Stone the second time. (Second Best)

Now Judge Roy Moore was reelected in 2012, but he promised not to bring back the 10 Commandments, so they seem to be forever lost from our country now.

Barack Obama brought a severe economic decline

Since Barack Obama ostensibly was voted in as president in 2009 (only six years after the 10 Commandments were removed from the public square), the country has suffered a severe economic decline. Poor people have suffered the most. The unemployment rate among black adults is over 18 percent, for black youth it's over 41 percent. Most of the young college graduates during these years are unemployed and living at home. One out of three young people graduating during the Obama "Administration" are living at home -- many not working.

The Obama economy has created nothing but part time work. And it's getting worse. In a recent story, the woman's clothing store Forever 21 has sent a memo to employees saying their hours will be reduced to 29.5 a week -- just under the 30-hour full time designation assigned by the so-called "Affordable Care" Act, which requires companies who employ 50 or more workers to provide health insurance for their full-time employees.

It's not clear how many of Forever 21's 30,000 employees will be affected by this change, but  the affected positions include the sales and stocking staff, janitors and cashiers. Who else is there? New part-time workers who were enrolled in medical, dental and vision will see their coverage cut off on Aug. 31.

This is just the beginning as Obama "Care" is being rolled out. UPS just announced it is cutting health insurance for working spouses of employees.

What has changed for the better since Barack Obama was elected? Nothing. He gave us health care that is going to cause most of us -- with health care --  to lose health care. If the government offers it, everyone will be given the opportunity to end their life instead of receiving treatment. What kind of health care kills the people it is supposed to care for?

The Middle East has become  a powder keg. Thousands of innocent refugees are fleeing Syria. Egypt is caught up in a civil war because Barack Obama supported the oh-so-innocent Muslim Brotherhood. Once the Egyptians threw off the yoke of this evil group, our president is threatening to cut off aid to Egypt!

Benghazi: A Punishment or Result of Our Own Choices.

The head of the CIA is openly Muslim. Either members of the Muslim Brotherhood have infiltrated the CIA and the State Department, and have caused the death of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens in Benghazi, or our government is being run by incredibly stupid people, who can't save the life of one ambassador and three other Americans, when they are attacked by Al-Qaeda forces within easy reach of American planes and firepower. Either way, is that a punishment from God? No, it is the fruit of our own choices.  Americans picked Barack Obama and his death dealing policies.

While New York Mayoral Candidate Anthony Weiner is busy
getting into trouble for sexting online, the real story is that his wife is a former top aide to Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, but she also has connections to the Muslim Brotherhood
Anthony Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin,
 talking to Hilary Clinton
(brother, mother, father). I know the liberal media regards this as a conspiracy theory, but the sources on this story are Muslim, and easily found online Weiner's in-laws and their connection to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Abraham Lincoln predicted that the United States will never be taken over by a foreign power from without, but if we falter and lose our freedoms it will be because we destroyed  ourselves. It's interesting that the last couple of years has been marked by attacks on religious freedoms and gun rights. The current administration is trying to limit who will be free to practice religion and who won't. My local Catholic grade school received an exemption just in time from the mandate requiring they provide abortion and birth control to their employees -- part of Obama "care." But a Christian business, Hobby Lobby, is still fighting for their religious freedom in court.

But more frightening is the idea taking hold that religious people don't have the right to express themselves in public. When I was commenting online recently,  I quoted a Roman Catholic bishop speaking against gay marriage. Certain people reading this opinion said the bishop in question should keep his mouth shut, except on the pulpit. Now isn't that interesting? Since President Lyndon Johnson, Catholic priests and Protestant pastors have been afraid to speak openly about politics from the pulpit for fear they will lose their tax exempt status with the IRS.

I myself was recently unfriended on Facebook by a cousin I grew up with because I mentioned the articles I  wrote on the Gay Agenda. Admittedly, he was just responding to criticism from his ex-wife, "What sort of bigoted crap is posted on your wall in this hateful blog?" This is what Pulitzer Prize winning poet John Berryman called, "The roar of the ex-wife."

But my cousin, while claiming he believed in free expression, suggested I find a more productive way to express my faith, such as championing starving children.

Again, he is saying, "Stay on the Reservation. Don't make waves."

His attitude is no different than that of the American media. I have never read, nor seen so many people with their heads buried in the sand. I was walking through the gym the other day and heard a female commentator on television making excuses for Barack Obama's actions. I stopped and shouted at the television, "And do you think I believe you?!"  The janitor tried to console me.

The punishment for idolatry is to continue in idolatry without the knowledge of God's law. So if you don't want the truth, then your punishment is to never know the truth.

Is God punishing America? Or are we punishing ourselves?

You decide.

Part V: Gay "Marriage" to destroy Marriage

(Editor's Note, Bill and I have been discussing homosexuality and the problem of faith for the last few posts. So I encourage you to read Welcome Bill I LGBT Agenda II and Welcome Bill II The Problem of Faith, Welcome Bill III: Same Sex Attraction is not a Sin  and Welcome Bill IV: No Man is an Island . Susan Fox)

"So unfortunately there are no private and personal matters that do not spill out into society and harm it." (Susan Fox)

Bill's Response: Even if that were really true, which it is not, there is nothing that you can do about it other than complain. You have no right to interfere with private and personal matters that are legal. And there are private and personal actions that the government has no right to make illegal.

You can't legislate morality. Even if we have more crime and social ills due to people abusing their freedom, the solution is not to eliminate that freedom for everyone. It is to eliminate the freedom for the offender. Denying all gays the right to marry because of the socially harmful acts of some gays is not what this country is all about. This country prides itself in its freedom and does not restrict that freedom to only those activities not deemed by the Catholic Church to be "sins".

Dear Bill,

We are getting close to an agreement! It's true I personally can do NOTHING to stop people from abusing their freedom. My only goal is to help form people in the image and likeness of Christ by sharing His viewpoint. It's their choice what they do with it!

You are Hungry for Goodness, Fair Play and Truth

Well Bill,
Through your comments you have told me an awful lot about yourself. What a good man you are called to be! You have a great hunger for goodness and fair play. When you lectured me on courtesy, you showed that you value the virtue of gentleness and kindness, and you showed this virtue in many of your remarks.

When you said, "let me try to comment without being deleted," you showed you were a lover of truth because you anxiously wanted the truth to come out.

You obviously admire the virtue of faith because you mentioned you admired mine. Again, you showed regard for truth when you questioned whether the Bible is true.

Then you demonstrated your  humanity by asking us reading this to acknowledge and accept same sex attracted people. I do accept such people. They are  human beings deeply loved by our Father in heaven. They are His children, and in fact if someone has any flaws at all, they have more right to God's mercy than Miss Goody Two Shoes! (Do we know anyone like that?)

You exhibited an anxiety and concern for others in your question about personal acts being harmful or not harmful.

Now you ask me about the wedding between two men or two women. And this shows you are called to deep personal intimacy with God and with others. This is obviously something you desire, and don't we all?

Sometimes When We Reach for Something . . .

It's unfortunately part of the human condition that sometimes as we reach for something we want, we destroy it in the very act of reaching.

When I was a little girl,  a friend of my mother's gave me a beautiful blond doll. She had made the clothes and created a closet for them to rest in. I was a very spoiled little girl, and so when I saw the doll, I said, "I don't want a blond doll. I want a red head!" That poor elderly woman confronted by my selfish outburst and ingratitude, very humbly withdrew the gift and promised to change the hair color of the doll to red. She did so, but all the joy she might have gathered from my enthusiastic response drained away.

I recognized this. I was only four or five years old. And when she returned the same doll with red hair, I was horrified. What had been a very pretty doll was now ugly! I honestly never once in my life played with that doll.

So it is that as the active homosexual person seeks recognition and acceptance by the add-on of "marriage," he or she destroys the very thing they desire, that is the institution of marriage.

Priests' Celibacy Models Whole-Hearted Love of God

In the Catholic Church we have priests, who model the life of Christ by celibacy. They refrain from sexual activity their whole life long. Conformed to Christ, married to the Church, they become like a beacon to the rest of us, expressing  wholehearted love of God, something we all want.  But if the priest is unfaithful to this vocation, then all we see is a muddied brook.

When my sister-in-law was preparing to become a Dominican nun, my husband and I took her on a trip to Williamsburg, VA. She was very annoying. She was totally in love with Jesus, so she wasn't much company. She reminded me of what Lawrence and I had been like when we were courting! Nobody could get in, we were just wrapped up in one another. My sister was being courted by Our Lord, and she was preparing to become His Bride!

I did door-to-door work with a short little nun in Washington State and at every door I introduced her as Jesus' bride. She was happy to be introduced in that manner, and even non-Catholic people were delighted to have Jesus' bride on their doorstep.

But should a Catholic nun, called to be a bride of Christ,  turn her heart against the true teachings of her Divine Spouse given to  the Catholic Church, she has destroyed her domestic bliss. She is like the shrewish wife rebelling against her husband's love. And that is a broken  unhappy household.

Now married couples dedicated to life-long chastity -- sexual activity to be shared wholly in the context of married love -- model that intimacy that every soul is called to share with God. And their union is usually fruitful in a very physical way -- they have children. It's a little microcosm of the Holy Trinity: The Holy Spirit is the Love between the Father and Son.

And the Holy Spirit does not bear another Divine Person, but He makes Jesus Christ incarnate in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, confects Him in the Eucharist at the words of the priest in the Mass. Then with Mary's human help, He recreates the image of Christ in

the human heart.

The homosexual man or woman, longing for this Community of Persons to be active in his  own  life, naturally finds himself attracted to marriage. It's a beautiful estate. It models intimacy with God.  But say the government says, "Okay, you can legally marry."  Does anything change in his relationship with his gay partner? Not really. Everything is just the same. They may or may not be faithful to one another.  Both partners' sexuality is identical. The driving reason for the marriage is to gain acceptance for their lifestyle. They may even adopt children with this goal in mind.

Now in a Catholic marriage a man and woman become one. That is their goal. In the Middle Ages, a married couple  was allegorically displayed as a ball with four legs and four arms.  They physically complement one another. Over time, two people find themselves serving the family and the world with one focus in mind -- to be the arms and legs of Jesus Christ. It is the only sacrament where two people bestow it on each other. With the Church's blessing on the union, there is grace to overcome selfishness, there is the openness to new life, and the excitement of anticipation that soon little persons with different personalities will be joining the family.

Marriage: a Household of Inconstant Roommates

But what about when the state says gays can marry. What happens to the marriage of the man and woman? Suddenly, in society's eyes, their marriage doesn't exist anymore -- in a legal sense -- because it doesn't mean anything.

A father can marry his own son to guarantee inheritance. A woman can marry her dog. A man may marry five women at one time or a woman marry a woman and a man.  And they can all get a quick divorce if their partner proves to be inconvenient. What happens to children in this case? They are cast aside with the spouse or spouses. They have no security.

Marriage has gone from the symbol of lifelong fidelity and fruitfulness to just another household of inconstant roommates. In fact, it is no longer marriage.

Lesbian Activist Agrees With Me

Lesbian Activist Masha Gessen confirmed this is the plan in a  surprisingly honest 2012
speech. She said,

  • “I agree It’s a no-brainer that we (gays) should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that's it's a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist.”
  • “Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we’re going to do with marriage when we get there. Because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie. The institution of marriage is going to change and it should change, and I don't think it should exist. I don't like taking part in creating fictions about my life. I have 3 kids who have 5 parents, and I don't see why they shouldn't have five parents legally. ” Then she goes through the elaborate way these five parents came together to make two different families with three children. And concludes, "I would like to live in a legal system that is capable of reflecting that reality. And I don't think that's compatible with the institution of marriage."

So what happens to the more traditional lesbian or gay couple when they marry to gain acceptance, and then find that marriage is nothing more than a sham, nothing but a legal arrangement with numerous possible variables? Will they be disappointed?

You are right Bill. I do oppose gay "marriage." But not because some gays do bad things. I object to it because it will lead to the destruction of the family, the destruction of society, and the loss of freedom and economic prosperity in this country. But it already exists in 13 states and  Washington, D.C.

Bill, every law legislates morality. A law that says you can't steal legislates morality. A law that says it's okay to kill your baby legislates morality. A law that says you can't shoot someone on the street legislates morality.

Now if you saw someone about to shoot a child on the street, and I started to intervene, would you shout at me, "Stop, Susan, you can't legislate morality!"

Bill, given the virtues you've shown that attract you, I don't think you'd say that!

God bless you. Susan Fox
